Farewell John and Virginia

We said an official fond farewell to our vicar, John and his wife Virginia on the 16th July, although he only officially retired on 4th September.  John has been the vicar at Holy Cross Church for 22 years! A service full of beautiful music took place on Sunday 16th July with a presentation of gifts - this included one of the Holy Cross pews which you can see them both sitting on here! Afterwards it was time to relax with old and new friends which included...cake. Further excitement came on 6th August when we were able to present them with a cheque representing the proceeds of a collection. And finally as he locked the church door on 4th September having led Evening Prayer... We wish them both all the best for a very happy retirement.
